Thank you to the Federal Health Minister for making the approval at last. A shame that this happened apparently without any support from any Tasmanian labor members; and a shame that now this facility will be at least two years later than it should have been.

One question: if the Launceston announcement was made on the night of the federal budget, why doesn't the federal budget mention it in any of its many pages? Weird...

It gets worse.

The Examiner reports on 30/4/09 that there is just mass confusion, talk of another two year wait for the accelerator and the local labor MP is saying "I have been trying to get some answers myself".

She should state a position and get on with fighting for her constituents.

Everyone knows that the third linear accelerator (used to give radiation treatment to cancer patients) belongs and is only sustainable in Launceston. All the reports say so. This sorry saga just demonstrates that you can't trust Labor on health.

I posted this info to this site quite a while ago, and a shortened version was published in the Examiner. No response from an embarassed Labor Party has been seen in any forum and unfortunately, as usual, they are never available for any substantial comment when asked by media.

Positive politics is needed more than ever.

G'day SDP,

thanks alot for that feedback! well, keep coming back because i'm updating the site constantly and will be loading up on faq's over time. i'm all for exceeding the expectations of people - most of whom now take a seriously jaded view of tasmanian politics. If a new style of politics is given a chance to blossom, then there is hope.
