Federal budget a huge letdown for Tasmania

Thank goodness someone’s had the sense to show how Tasmania is the big loser from tonights Federal Budget. Will Hodgman has exposed Labor for failing to make the tough decisions that are in the interests of our economy and community.
- Tasmania has been shafted by the Federal Government
- Kevin Rudd and David Bartlett have let Tasmania down
- The government cash splash stops at Bass Strait
- Tasmania’s GST black hole has blown out to $1 billion
As far as the country is concerned, things are starting to look very grim as a result of Rudd Labor’s untargetted spending spree:
- 1 million unemployed next year
- A record $58 billion deficit, and
- Record net debt of at least $188 billion by 2012-13 meaning every Australian woman, man and child now owes $9,300 which must be repaid in taxes in the future.
It’s beginning to look alot like Whitlam.
