    Michael,

Thank you for taking the time to focus on the importance of character in life’s journey. Integrity is the foundation of character and concepts like trust, honesty, reliability and mutual respect are central to this discussion. A few years ago my Boss Peter Cosgrove described integrity as the “adhesive which binds the leader and the led.” He was right. Your suggestion that those who aspire to lead us politically must also have the right ethics, character and integrity, is equally right. The Tasmanian Labor Government’s link to its constituents is fraying noticeably. As we have seen with their slow reaction to the ACL collapse, the Dr McGinity saga, and inability to progress infrastructure priorities in Tasmania, their decision-making is no longer thoughtful, fair or well considered. They are seen as increasingly untrustworthy and unreliable. In March next year I hope that there will be change and new ideas to optimise Tasmania’s future.
