Thanks for your post JBM - you are quick off the mark. You might be interested to know that of all the Green Corps groups I have been involved with (quite a few, especially during my term as Federal Member) we never saw any interest from green or labor identities. That's a shame because the young people would have appreciated seeing them. Now what Tony is talking about is a much broader role for Green Corps. If I have the honour of being a part of a new Liberal Tasmanian Government after March 20 I will immediately be working to ensure our team embrace the opportunity to get our slice of the 15,000 workforce for our environmental hotspots. Can any other readers offer me any suggestions on the kinds of projects we should be focussing on??? Thanks, M

Great ideas here for a way to actually DO things things rather than just form committees and grandstand at international meetings. I can imagine the arrival of "Green Corps" teams being greeted with a similar degree of relief as emergency services crews.
Hopefully this speech will also make people wake up from the automtic tendancy to believe labout is best qualified on environmental matters.
