I’m not convinced that a poorly executed idea makes for a bad idea. Tasmania Tomorrow has been poorly delivered. Tasmania Tomorrow set good goals that were not necessarily being met by the college system. If we go back to the old college system, ‘as was’, they will continue to hide non-pre T students for two years who will be no better of than they were at the end of grade 10. This is expensive for our schools and ultimately our economy.
It would seem far more prudent to me to persist with what is currently legislated and get it right. The alternative is to ‘roll back’ and alienate even more people, those that believe in what is currently being attempted, to go back to a system that is also not all it is claimed to be.
