A Plastic Shopping Bag Free Tasmania

What the Tasmanian Liberals will do:   Make Tasmania free of non-biodegradable plastic shopping bags within two years.

Coles Bay on Tasmania’s East Coast was the first town in Australia to go “plastic shopping bag free” and a Hodgman Liberal Government will move to remove non-biodegradable plastic shopping bags from across Tasmania.

Why this policy is needed
Plastic shopping bags are a common source of litter and contamination both on land and in our waterways.

Tony Abbott’s first agenda speech: protecting our environment

I have decided to add my mate Tony Abbott’s recent speech outlining his passion for pursuing environment policy as a mainstream agenda item for two reasons.  1- Because the thoughts and concerns Tony outlines are so good and every thinking voter deserves to hear them; 2- Because it’s way past time for people to realise that the political left doesn’t own the environment, rather the historical record shows that the Liberal tradition has shown greater leadership in practically protecting our living environment while also protecting our economy and way of life.  Please take the time to read on…
