It was a great pleasure to meet the new paramedic graduates who are about to start work as interns on the North West coast. The region is a challenging area for paramedics, combining urban and remote calls and trauma and precautionary assistance.
The six graduates will join 82 existing staff already delivering expert health care on the North West Coast.
The Liberal Government is delivering on its commitment to rebuild frontline services with more paramedics on the road and in the community.
The interns will start with station-based duties before being assigned to crews working across the North West by the end of September.
The workforce remains strong and is complimented by a network of dedicated volunteers in regional areas.
The Liberal Government is delivering the health system Tasmanians need and deserve.
That’s why we’re investing a record amount into health worth $5.8 billion over the budget and forward estimates period. We’re providing funding for more nurses and an extra $76 million for up to an additional 15,000 elective surgeries.
We are laying the foundations for a health care system that puts the needs of Tasmanians back where they belong, at the forefront of every decision.
Thank you for your hard work, it’s so appreciated. Jeane
