Members of the public are invited to attend a forum this Thursday to have their say on the feasibility of a Northern Hospice in Launceston.
Health is a major focus for the Hodgman Liberal Government in 2016 as we continue to build a better health system for every Tasmanian.
We understand that with an aging demographic demand for palliative care services will continue to grow.
That is why we have funded a Northern Hospice Feasibility study to investigate ways to improve end of life care in Northern Tasmania.
The forum is an opportunity to discuss initial themes and findings prior to the conclusion of the study and presentation of a report to Government.
The extensive methodology used has included inviting online and written submissions and conducting interviews and meetings with a range of internal and external stakeholders and individuals.
The public forum will be held at the Tramsheds Function Centre at Inveresk from 6-8pm and I encourage all interested members of the community to attend and take part.
RSVP’s are appreciated by calling (03) 9616 2704 by COB Tuesday 19 January.
