Labor Braddon candidate Justine Keay is wrong. These rehabilitation beds will not close in the North West and health workers jobs aren’t at risk.
This is Labor scaremongering motivated by self-interest ahead of a federal election.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that the federal funding Ms Keay refers to was always time limited funding. The former Labor Government agreed to this and had no plan to fund them.
Ms Keay should also remember that it was the Labor Party that cut $500 million from health in 2011.
We are working cooperatively with the Federal Government to ensure vital health services continue.
Tasmania always does better under a Federal Coalition Government, the additional $54 million for health secured at COAG recently is a good example of this.
