The Government supported Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hubs project is continuing to build momentum with two leading Australian startup accelerator programs, Pollenizer and muru-D, travelling to Launceston on the 23rd and 24th of June to run a series of events to help develop the startup community in Tasmania.
The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hubs project is a partnership between the Hodgman Liberal Government, the startup community and University of Tasmania which aims to help great ideas become viable, job creating businesses.
Pollenizer will be running two events that will share insights from their startup science framework with leaders in the Tasmanian startup ecosystem, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs who have an idea and would like to learn how to develop their concept into a viable startup business.
Events such as these are essential for developing local skills and knowledge and enabling us to build a strong support network in the state for aspiring entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hubs are also helping to form part of this essential support structure, by providing focal points in Hobart and Launceston for startup activity and providing access to office space, mentors and other support for Tasmanian entrepreneurs.
One of the primary goals of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Hubs project is to help build connections between the Tasmanian startup ecosystem and other startup communities around Australia and globally.
Partnerships and collaboration are essential parts of a thriving entrepreneurial culture and events such as these workshops from Pollenizer and muru-D are great examples of what can be achieved when startup organisations work together to build capability within a region.
We are looking forward to seeing more of these sorts of events taking place in Tasmania as the Innovation Hubs project continues to build momentum.
Pollenizer is Australia’s first incubator, which was founded in 2008. They incubate their own startups, while designing accelerator systems for partners to support startup communities globally. Startup Coaches lead and educate through a discipline built at Pollenizer known as startup science.
muru-D is a startup accelerator that’s backed by Telstra. They were founded in Sydney and have since grown to include operations in Brisbane and Singapore. Startups in the muru-D program receive investment in their company, as well as six months of intensive support in one of muru-D’s dedicated startup spaces. They are currently running their third program in Sydney, with ten startups enrolled.
