Works on the $689 million Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Redevelopment are progressing well, with another 10 tenders for construction work to be advertised on the ICN Gateway in September.

The call for tenders demonstrates we are helping to boost the Tasmanian economy, while we get on with the vital job of building K-Block.

The latest opportunities include works such as: precast concrete walls and columns, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fire services, the pneumatic tube system, as well as building the site accommodation facilities.

I want to encourage local contractors to be part of the RHH Redevelopment and to submit for these work packages as they are released by the managing contractor, the John Holland Fairbrother Joint Venture.
Contractors for the site accommodation, while K-Block is built, are publicly advertised today, September 10, 2016.

Tenders for the precast works for the main K-Block structure and façade, will be advertised Saturday September 17, 2016.

Other tenders to be advertised include a range of services – mechanical, electrical and hydraulic.
The fire services tender will cover works to ensure K-Block meets fire regulations and standards, and that for medical gases will be for the supply of oxygen for resuscitation.

A pneumatic tube system which rapidly transports pathology specimens from wards to laboratories by a system of internal tubes using compressed air, will also be put out for tender.

Sub-contractors are encouraged to register their interest at: https://gateway.icn.org.au/
