The dental funding offer by the Federal Government is highly disappointing, as it represents a 30 per cent cut in real terms.
I am also concerned about the lack of clarity around the amount of federal funding for dental services from next year.
Tasmania has previously enjoyed a higher per capita allocation than other states and we want to see this continue.
I acknowledge that an alternative dental funding proposal which would have been better for Tasmania, was blocked in the Senate by Labor, Greens and the minor parties, and I call on all parties to work together to get a better funding outcome for Tasmania.
