Tasmania has the strongest growing economy in the country and in 2019-20 we are delivering a record investment of over $1.6 billion in job-creating infrastructure our state needs.
Work on the East Tamar Highway – Mowbray Connector Intersection Upgrade will start in September after a tender for the construction was awarded this week.
As Minister for Infrastructure and Transport I congratulate Tasmanian company, Shaw Contracting, who will undertake this important work which includes installing a roundabout to replace the current turning arrangement at the intersection of East Tamar Highway and Mowbray Link in the state’s north.
This project is part of the Hodgman Liberal Government’s commitment to improving safety and traffic flow on the East Tamar Highway.
This $5 million project will support the local economy and jobs. The upgrades are expected to be completed early next year.
We are investing in building the infrastructure that will benefit Tasmanians for generations, to provide better access to jobs to support our productive industries and regional communities.
