Tasmania has the nation’s most confident businesses and the Hodgman majority Liberal Government is committed to ensuring our private sector continues to benefit from a strong economy.

That is why at the last election, we promised to release an annual Infrastructure Pipeline, which details the vast range of projects in train or soon to begin across our state.

I’m pleased to release the second edition of Infrastructure Tasmania’s Project Pipeline today, which will provide additional certainty for businesses to invest into the future.

This Project Pipeline not only encapsulates the countless roads, ports, airports, rail, irrigation and electricity supply infrastructure investments made by the Hodgman majority Liberal Government, but also those from the private sector.

This includes projects such as the 86 room Verge Hotel in Launceston, which is providing an important boost to the economy. This privately funded $20 million hotel by Stay Tasmania is a great demonstration of the way the private sector is responding by building infrastructure for a growing economy and to meet the demands of our strong visitor economy.

In total, $15.2 billion is captured in the Project Pipeline, with 38 of the 261 projects worth more than $50 million.

It’s clear our plan to grow the economy and create jobs is working, and we are focussed on maintaining this momentum in our economy, and investing for future growth.
