Some of Tasmania’s best and brightest minds are today taking part in the inaugural MyState Bank Innovation Challenge Day as part of a new initiative, the National Innovation Games.
Ten local micro-businesses will work in teams with MyState bank employees, local tertiary students, graduates and PhD candidates as part of the Games.
They will be tasked with addressing the question of how technology could be used to develop their ventures and adapt to future challenges.
The Games will help foster new professional relationships between businesses and participants and allow those involved to develop skills in design, networking, collaboration and pitching
The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is committed to developing the science, technology and innovation skills of all Tasmanians to help grow our economy and create jobs for Tasmanians.
Since we came to office nearly 1,600 new small businesses have begun, and Tasmania is leading the nation in many key indicators, including having the fastest growing economy in the country for the first time in 15 years.
I would like to thank the Morrison Liberal Government for their support in providing $3.5 million towards the program over the next 2 years.
