The Hodgman majority Liberal Government welcomes news that Tasmania continues to have the highest increase in job advertisements in the nation.
In July 2019 data, the Department of Jobs and Small Business found the annual growth in internet job vacancies was 13.2 per cent, while the monthly increase was 1.5 per cent. Both of these increases are the highest growth rates in the nation, while job vacancies declined nationally. What’s more – all three regions saw an increase in job vacancies, as businesses around Tasmania look to continue hiring.
This is no surprise – the Sensis Business Index and the NAB Business Survey released over the past fortnight found that Tasmanian businesses continue to be the most confident, have the best business conditions, and the most popular government policies in the nation. It also follows last week’s jobs data, which showed that 13,000 jobs have been created since we came to office.
Such strong results do not happen by accident, they reflect the Hodgman majority Liberal Government’s long-term vision and plan to grow the economy and create jobs.
However, there is always more to do and the Hodgman majority Liberal Government’s Plan is focussed firmly on growing the economy and creating more. Our track record stands in stark contrast to the former Labor-Green Government, when 10,000 jobs were lost.
